Auditorium building

In the context of the old veterinary school by Ludwig Peterson and Rudolf S. Enblom, The assignment was to design an auditorium building with additional seminar rooms on a narrow site, surrounded by monumental brick buildings.

The brickwork together with the pitched roof was a uniting factor for the buildings on site, which became a natural design gesture for the overall appearance of the auditorium building. This formal statement was not only beneficial for settling in the landscape and paying respect for the context. The building got a natural direction, connecting the level differences through the ground floor and by placing the auditorium above one could take advantage of the spatial qualities given by the pitched roof.
